Waste Management SVP Barry Caldwell has exited the company after 16 years. Caldwell’s last day with Waste Management was August 11. In August, Caldwell started working for DC-based housing, financial, and community advisory firm Wroxton Civic Ventures as a principal. Caldwell joined Waste Management in 2002 as SVP of public affairs and communications. In 2014, he was upped to SVP of corporate affairs and chief legal officer.

Last January, he stepped into his most recent role as SVP of corporate affairs and chief people officer, where his responsibilities included human resources, state and federal policy, corporate communications and community relations, and aviation. He was a member of Waste Management’s senior leadership team and reported to president and CEO Jim Fish, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Earlier in his career, Caldwell was Cigna’s VP of government relations; and VP of federal affairs for Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. Before that, he worked for Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), including as chief of staff from 1992-1996.
