Caterpillar is pleased to be participating in this year’s Water Environment Federation’s Technical Conference (WEFTEC) to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana September 30 – October 4. For decades, Caterpillar has been assisting customers with generator sets that operate on biogas in waste water applications.  Treating wastewater — especially for large, rapidly growing communities — is an energy-intensive and costly undertaking. With a broad portfolio of durable and reliable solutions, our customers have benefited from reduced operational costs in addition to being more environmentally responsible due to the state of the art solutions in the Caterpillar portfolio.

Together with our sponsoring dealers, Louisiana Cat, Mustang Cat, Peterson Cat and Puckett Cat, industry experts will be present at the Caterpillar exhibit to talk to you about our new Cat CG132B series generator sets.  These generators are available in 8, 12 and 16 cylinder configurations with continuous duty biogas ratings of 400, 600 and 800 kW’s.  In addition, this series of generator sets are capable to operate on an infinite blend of biogas and natural gas providing customers with tremendous operational flexibility to maximize the value of their investment.

“This new gas generator set solution will enable our customers to achieve faster payback periods due to its operational flexibility and lower total life cycle costs,” said Scott Conway, territory sales manager for Caterpillar Energy Solutions.  “The CG132B platform offers customers high electrical and thermal efficiencies, low life cycle costs and fuel blending capability, making it ideal for the wastewater treatment industry,” said Conway.

In addition to learning about water treatment power solutions, attendees at this year’s WEFTEC can learn about the Caterpillar Foundation’s Value of Water Campaign. “In the Caterpillar Foundation’s work to alleviate poverty around the world, it’s clear that water is one of the most critical basic needs of people and their communities,” said Michele Sullivan, president of the Caterpillar Foundation.  “That’s why we have declared 2018 the Year of Water. Throughout this year, together with our nonprofit partners, we’re bringing awareness to how we’re tackling the water issues, head-on, through thoughtful effort, great partnerships, and sustainable development that will empower us to create a better future,” said Sullivan.

Be sure to stop by exhibit #3665 at WEFTEC to meet industry experts and learn about Caterpillar’s wastewater to energy technology. Additionally, you can learn about the Caterpillar Foundation’s philanthropic efforts to drive powerful change to the global water crisis.
