Crow Wing County mailed its 2022 disposal guide to all county property owners. The guide covers hours of operation, what items are accepted at the landfill, the fee schedule, recycling and household hazardous waste programs, and includes a $10 coupon.The coupon can be applied towards any service at the landfill with the following conditions:
- Limit of one coupon per load.
- No change will be given.
- The customer is responsible for paying the required special waste tax on applicable items.
- The coupon is not redeemable for cash.
- Cannot be applied to payments on charge accounts.
In the cities of Brainerd, Baxter, Pequot Lakes, Crosslake and Ironton, curbside recycling services are offered to their residents. The county also sponsors three recycling drop sites that are available for use to all county residents. The county continues to have a recycling rate of over 50%, far exceeding the state minimum of 35% and almost 49,000 tons of material were recycled through the county recycling program last year.
