In accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act, Act 101 of July 28, 1988, as amended, and Chapter 272 of the Pennsylvania Rules and Regulations, 25 PA Code, the Counties of Mifflin and Juniata are soliciting proposals from regional landfills with the capacity to provide disposal for municipal solid waste (MSW), including construction and demolition (C&D) waste and municipal sewage sludge (Sludge) originating from Mifflin and Juniata Counties. Mifflin and Juniata counties (combined) generate approximately 40,000 tons of municipal waste, including C/D waste, annually. The term of provision of disposal capacity shall be ten (10) years, beginning in January 2025. Qualified respondents will be listed as designated facilities in the Regional Municipal Waste Management Plan that is currently being updated. Box 390, Lewistown, PA 17044.  Written questions from proposers are due Friday, March 24, 2023, by 3:30 pm. There will be no mandatory pre-proposal meeting.
