Meridian Waste announces it closed on the purchase of a new acquisition in the Harrisonburg marketplace, its third hauling operation in the state since beginning Virginia operations in February 2017.  The acquisition includes Trash or Treasure, LLC servicing residential and commercial small business in Harrisonburg and throughout Rockingham County. The terms of the asset purchase agreement remain private. A new Meridian Waste hauling location has been opened at 511 Bridge Street, Staunton, VA  24401.  The 4,800 square foot building is a 1908-built former bakery and distribution warehouse and will house the operational and maintenance facilities for the company serving the Augusta County Convenience Centers hauling contract and the newly acquired residential and commercial contracts in Rockingham County.

“Our continued expansion throughout Virginia exhibits our ability to successfully win municipal contracts such as the Augusta County Convenience Center hauling contract and then maximize such opportunities with strategic acquisitions like Trash or Treasure,” stated Walter “Wally” Hall, Meridian Waste’s CEO.  “Meridian Waste is a growing, experienced, and independent environmental services company committed to a strategic growth plan that focuses on acquisitions, municipal contract wins, volume growth, and organic growth. With our entry into the Shenandoah Valley marketplace, we are excited about the economic opportunities associated with the very active I-81 corridor, building a strong sales force to densify existing lines of business, and expanding into new lines of business such as front-load collection.”
