The Ohio chapter of the NWRA joined the Stop the Spread Coalition, an initiative led by the Ohio Business Roundtable to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Its goal is to mobilize a grassroots effort by ordinary Ohioans to fight a pandemic. “From the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, NWRA has engaged federal and state governments to help fight the spread COVID-19 and ensure that waste and recycling collection continues to prevent an additional public health crisis,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “These partnerships are vital to stopping the spread of this virus.”
“Coalition members, including NWRA’s Ohio chapter, understand that our member companies are on the frontlines of the fight and have agreed to drive action among their employees by encouraging them to lead by personal example. We look forward partnering with our coalition friends in this effort,” said NWRA Midwest Region Vice President Peggy Macenas.
Members of the coalition include businesses, nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher learning and other Ohio organizations that recognize the threat COVID-19 presents to our health and our economy.
