Priority Waste announced the acquisition of the J Fons Company, a Detroit based waste haulage company that was founded in 1956 and is the operator of a major transfer station in the metro Detroit market. The acquisition supports the expansion of Priority Waste’s front-end load waste and recycling collection, roll off waste collection, and scrap metal recycling operations.  The purchase serves to provide Priority Waste with a second transfer station in the Detroit area.

“J Fons is a long-standing member of the Detroit area community with a great reputation for customer service. Their operations will support our geographic growth and strengthen our connection with Detroit residents who can use the transfer station for waste drop off,” said Todd Stamper, Chief Executive Officer of Priority Waste.

With the addition of the operations of J Fons, Priority Waste continues its strategy of blending organic and acquisition-based growth to serve the increasing demands of customers in the residential and commercial & governmental sectors. The company currently provides waste removal services for multiple local municipalities, several thousand businesses and over twenty-five thousand homes.
