Electronics recycler Sunnking presented a $13,357 check to Camp Good Days and Special Times, a local non-profit organization helping children and families dealing with cancer. The funds were raised as a part of Sunnking’s 11th annual e-Scrap for Camp fundraiser. The company saw 353 area businesses participate in the electronics recycling donation drive. “Our community stepped up in a big way,” said Adam Shine, Vice President of Sunnking. “With what these kids and families continue to deal with its hugely important that we keep doing our part to provide them program access and something as simple as recycling electronics is all it takes.”

Sunnking works with local businesses to recycle unwanted electronics through the donation drive, generating funds for future programs at Camp Good Days and Special Times. The e-Scrap for Camp program has gifted a total of $128,106 to provide access to the year-round activities for Western New York children. “We are overjoyed, and in awe of the amount Sunnking continues to donate to our organization,” said Lisa Booz, WNY Regional Director of Camp Good Days & Special Times. “In a time when most of the world stopped, Camp Good Days pushed on through; providing programming to families facing cancer without pause. Accomplishing this feat without Sunnking’s e-Scrap for Camp program would not have been impossible.”

Buffalo and Rochester-area businesses provided a total of 445,256 lbs of recyclable devices towards the 2021 donation, a 6% (or $1,600 gift) increase from the year prior. Since the e-scrap program’s existence, Sunnking has rescued more than 5.5 million pounds of recyclable material from area landfills.”We are so fortunate to be able to count on this program’s existence and the community’s response to it,” said Booz.

Sunnking will launch registration for the 2022 fundraising campaign later this year.
