Ohio based, family-owned Rumpke purchased certain waste collection assets from Farmer’s Refuse& Trucking, Inc. in Logan, OH, on Oct. 1. Nearly 2,000 residential customers and 700 commercial customers throughout Athens and Hocking counties will transfer to Rumpke, along with a small truck fleet. Employees from Farmer’s were invited to participate in Rumpke’s pre-employment screening process.  Meanwhile, Farmer’s retained the roll off component of their business.

Both organizations worked to ensure a seamless transition for customers, who can expect to receive service without interruption. Rumpke will mail service information to each household within the next couple of weeks. The two firms share some similarities, mainly a strong commitment to hard work and putting customers first. Farmer’s has operated in these counties for nearly 40 years and the owners of Farmer’s were very involved in the day-to-day operations of their firm. Family involvement is also very evident at Rumpke, where more than 75 family members work in company, which was founded in 1932.

“We understand Farmer’s has a great service reputation, and Rumpke is dedicated to creating a customer experience that instills a positive opinion of Rumpke as well. We are committed to exceeding the expectations our new customers,” said Andrew Rumpke, vice president at Rumpke, “Rumpke very much looks forward to getting to know our new customers and team members.”
