Small, minority- and women-owned businesses are being sought by the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County to be a part of the bids in the estimated $400M garbage collection contracts next year. To do this, the SWA is looking to match prime hauling contractors with prospective subcontractors through a PowerNet meeting on Tuesday, April 24 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the SWA’s Administration Building, 7501 N. Jog Road in West Palm Beach.

Small, minority- and woman-owned businesses that provide the following goods and services and are interested in participating in these contracts may be matched together with prime hauling contractors to discuss potential partnerships:

  • Trucking Repairs
  • Container Repair and Maintenance
  • Yard Waste, Vegetation Disposal
  • Towing Services
  • Repair and Fabrication
  • Vehicle Washing
  • Maintenance and Repair of Hydraulic Motors
  • Clamshell Services
  • Roll-off
  • Contract Administration
  • Janitorial Services
  • Nut & Bolt Supplies
  • Hydraulic Parts
  • Spill Cleanup
  • Lawn Maintenance
  • Office & Miscellaneous Supplies
  • Automotive Parts

As part of this meeting, prospective vendors will not only be able to network but will be offered the opportunity to meet with SWA representatives to learn more about the bid process and share feedback that may shape the way future bids are solicited.

In-person attendance is strongly encouraged. Registration is FREE at www.swa-pbcpowernet18.eventbrite.com.

Businesses that are out of state can watch and comment live from their computers, tablets or smart device through a webinar. That link to participate in the question and answer session is https://swa.org/powernet.
