Student Scholarships Available for WSRA’s 2018 Conference

The Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA), a 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association committed to recycling education and promotion in Washington State, welcomes college students to apply for a scholarship to attend their Annual Conference and Trade Show, May 20-23, 2018 at the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA.

WSRA’s Annual Conference and Trade Show draws over 200 recycling and waste prevention industry professionals from around the country. A showcase for the latest recycling, re-use, and waste reduction programs and technology,  the conference will feature leading-edge educational sessions, local and national experts and speakers, facility tours, valuable networking opportunities, and an awards program to celebrate the achievements of Washington’s recycling businesses and leaders.
 
WSRA encourages applications from undergraduate and graduate students age 18 or older who are currently enrolled in college, university, or trade school, or graduated within 15 months of the conference (Feb 2017- May 2018). Scholarships include full registration, entitling students to attend educational sessions, workshops, exhibits, tours of recycling facilities, social events, meals and the WSRA Annual Awards Banquet. Three nights’ lodging in the host hotel will be provided. In addition to attending Conference, scholarship recipients will receive free registration to all 2018 Washington Recycles Every Day (WRED)
events organized by WSRA and held around the state and WSRA communications.

To apply for a scholarship, submit the electronic application found at www.wsra.net, including an essay describing how your efforts in recycling and waste prevention have contributed to the mission of WSRA, and/or how you expect to contribute to this mission in the future.
