The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), the United States’ premier professional beach volleyball organization and longest-running domestic tour, is excited to announce a new collaboration with Waste Management National Services, Inc. With a strategic commitment to environmental stewardship, this collaboration will aim to protect the environment we all share. As AVP’s sustainability advisor, WM will support their team by conducting an organizational and operations evaluation to help the teams determine efficient and effective impact benchmarking and management, capitalize on stakeholder engagement opportunities, and develop an effective sustainability program.

“Sustainability and protecting our environment have always been a priority for the AVP but up until now, we haven’t had a company to learn from to properly launch an environmental stewardship initiative,” said Donald Sun, AVP. “WM will educate, lead and challenge us over the next several months and years to help eliminate waste, reduce our footprint and encourage our beach family to make a real difference. More to come from #CleanBeach.”

“WM is always working for a sustainable tomorrow and our project with AVP exemplifies the multifaceted approach a sports organization needs to implement an effective sustainability agenda,” said Lee Spivak, Managing Director of WM’s Sports and Entertainment Team. “AVP’s enthusiasm and commitment resonates throughout their organization, so we are eager to assess their environmental impacts and create an impactful management strategy.”
