In its annual “Golden 100” list released last month, Orlando Business Journal named Waste Pro the third-largest private company in Central Florida. This is the eighth consecutive year Waste Pro has been in the top five.  Waste Pro currently has more than 3,700 employees and more than 2,700 collection trucks in its fleet and operates in 62 out of Florida’s 67 counties.

As a privately-owned company, Waste Pro has a unique ability to expand operations and sustain consistent financial growth strategically and competitively. In addition to the “Golden 100,” Orlando Business Journal named Waste Pro the third-largest family-owned company in Central Florida in August. Waste Pro’s Founder and CEO, John Jennings, works closely alongside his son, Sean Jennings, whom the Board of Directors recently elected President.

Jennings founded Waste Pro in 2001, and last month Florida Trend named him one of Florida’s most influential business leaders in its inaugural “Florida 500” issue. In addition, the magazine named Waste Pro the 95th largest private company in Florida in July. Waste Pro was the only solid waste and recycling company out of the 225 included in the list.

A second-generation garbage man, Jennings has built Waste Pro into one of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. Waste360 has named Waste Pro the third-largest private solid waste and recycling company nationwide. “Our relationships with our customers and communities, our highly committed employees, and our young leaders being ‘disruptors’ in the industry have allowed our company to thrive and ensure our future as a 100-year company,” Jennings said.

The overall growth of Waste Pro has been systematic and strategic, gaining market share throughout the Southeastern footprint, including the addition of more than 100,000 new residential customers, resulting in a revenue increase from $594 million in 2016 to $632 million in 2017.
