Wastequip, the leading North American manufacturer of waste handling equipment, is pleased to announce that two members of its leadership team have been named to Waste360’s prestigious “40 Under 40” list of rising stars and innovative young professionals who have made significant impact on the waste, recycling and organics industry.  The leaders are Kristin Kinder, Wastequip’s director of research and waste stream sustainability, and Henry Retamal, Wastequip’s operations president.

An operational wizard with strong manufacturing strategy, research and development and continuous improvement skills, Henry Retamal has played a critical role in Wastequip’s turnaround over the past five years. His keen business insight, strong change management skills and inherent ability to lead and motivate teams have contributed to his increasing responsibilities and progression from operations director to senior vice president and division president to operations president. Throughout each role, Retamal has driven process improvements, increased efficiency, reduced costs and improved quality.

Having spent much of her career in transfer stations, landfills, MRFs and compost facilities, Kristin Kinder is becoming a leading voice in the concept of the circular economy.  She’s worked with multiple facets of the waste industry including hauling operations, municipalities, businesses, manufacturers and consumers to inspire positive behavior change and has been instrumental in several successful sustainability outreach and awareness programs and zero waste consulting engagements. Combining passion, science, program development, and communication, Kinder continues to drive progress in the waste industry that will have a lasting impact on our environment. “Henry and Kristin are outstanding examples of the level of talent within our workforce, and we couldn’t be prouder of their careers and representation,” said Marty Bryant, Wastequip CEO.
