Area Disposal Service, Inc. (AREA®) has acquired Shaw Disposal, Inc. in Lewistown, IL. Shaw is a family-owned business with more than 1,000 residential and commercial customers in Fulton County. Bob Shaw’s family had been in the solid waste business for decades. Shaw’s business reputation in Fulton County was based on good customer service. “This acquisition aligns strategically with our goal to increase market presence in Fulton County. Our family-owned business has been in a growth mode for several years. We find it is a great fit when another family business is folded into our family’s company. Shaw will operate out of our Wigand Disposal operation based in Chillicothe,” said AREA® Vice President, Matt Coulter. AREA® will base a truck and driver in Lewistown servicing Fulton County customers.
