Burke Industries, a global leader in CSPE geomembranes, announces exclusive, strategic partnerships with Colorado Lining International, Inc. (CLI) and Layfield Environmental Systems Corp (Layfield). Going forward, distribution and fabrication of all Burke CSPE geomembrane products and systems will be managed by these two companies in the United States and Canada. The agreement does not prevent any other third-party companies from working with Burke’s renowned chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSPE) products; but, Burke will no longer handle direct sales or distribution. “We are a manufacturer,” says Stephen Roades, Vice President of Burke Industries’ Liners, Covers & Roofing Division. “That is our core area. We are deeply focused on quality control, and we are insistent on quality control from manufacture through installation. With this agreement, we can focus exclusively on our area—manufacturing—while two of the most trusted and experienced installers and fabricators in the world can oversee that end.”

Both CLI and Layfield have long records of working with CSPE geomembranes. The materials have experienced a resurgence in use for long-term designs, such as for reservoir liners and floating cover systems. CSPE products have shown service lives that exceed 25 and 30 years in exposed environments around the world. CLI and Layfield also have well-established sales networks within the US and internationally. “No other fabricators and installers have this strong of a vertical network,” says Roades. “We are very happy to continue working with them.” The three companies will work together to build and support the marketplace, including further development of the CSPE material and its use for different containment applications, while taking responsibility in their primary areas for quality control. This includes raw material management, training programs, material handling, installation, and more.
