Steve Nalefski has joined Burns & McDonnell as Vice President and General Manager of the firm’s Environmental Division. Nalefski succeeds Steve Linnemann, who has retired.  Nalefski  has 30 years’ experience in environmental management consulting, with particular emphasis on assessment and remediation for projects worldwide. A registered Professional Geologist in multiple states, Nalefski has led project teams working on complex cleanup programs worldwide, with particular emphasis on the petroleum and chemical industries. He received his bachelor’s degree in geology from Illinois State University and did post graduate study in hydrogeology at Wright State University.

Steve Linnemann formally retired from Burns & McDonnell at year-end 2015 after a total of 18 years with the firm. He was named General Manager of the Burns & McDonnell Chicago Regional office in 1999 and then was promoted in 2007 to lead the Environmental division. “Steve Nalefski has amazing credentials for this role with many years of success spanning the entire spectrum of services in the environmental market,” said Graves. “Though it is unusual for Burns & McDonnell to recruit from outside for senior leadership positions, Steve Nalefski completely gets our employee-ownership culture and is the perfect fit to take our Environmental group to new levels of success.”
