This highly anticipated event brings professionals together with a golf tournament, Super Silent Auction, and many networking opportunities.

The Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) will hold its 2022 Fall Classic & Networking Event October 19 – 20 at The Woodlands Resort located in The Woodlands, TX. This highly anticipated event brings
professionals together with the support of Waste Connections and WM, the event’s overall co-sponsors, as well as nearly 30 additional sponsors thus far. Proceeds from the tournament will support EREF’s charitable mission to advance scientific research and create educational pathways that enable innovation in sustainable waste management practices. This event is poised to be an effective opportunity for organizations to increase their visibility while supporting a meaningful cause.

Reception and Tournament
On Wednesday, October 19th, the event will begin with a welcome networking reception. The morning of Thursday, October 20th, kicks off with breakfast followed by a shotgun start and 18 holes. The tournament will conclude with an awards luncheon once tournament play is complete.

The format for the tournament will be four-person scramble with a shotgun start. Contests are available for participation before the 18 holes, including cash prizes in EREF’s drone drop competition and a chance to win $10,000 during the putting contest. A chance to win prizes will be available throughout the courses including one chance to win $50,000 cash at the hole-in-one contest. Additional contests include longest drive, the longest putt, and more. Balls for the drone drop will be available for purchase at the Wednesday evening reception.

Silent Auction
EREF will also be holding its annual Super Silent Auction culminating at the Wednesday evening networking reception. EREF first introduced its Super Silent Auction in 2020 as an
opportunity for companies, or individuals, to cultivate connections with owners, presidents, vice presidents, procurement specialists and more. Revenue generated from the Super Silent Auction funds EREF’s mission to advance credible science and education opportunities.

An example of that support at work is EREF scholar Tessa Lee, who will be in attendance and featured at Fall Classic 2022. Tessa is currently studying for her masters at Yale University focusing on Industrial Ecology. Her research uses Material Flow Analysis (MFA) to quantify the raw material requirements of a rapid transition to a complete net-zero carbon emission power network in the U.S. in order to highlight possible material supply issues and estimate the recycling opportunities.

To support students like Tessa and other science and education opportunities through the Super Silent Auction, visit erefdn.org to learn how to register and place a bid on one of this year’s prominent outings. Bidding will open 10am (CST) on October 5 and close 8pm (CST) on October 19th.

Between networking opportunities, meeting an EREF scholar, chances to win fantastic prizes, and supporting a good cause, you are sure to have a great time! | WA
