Screening and crushing industry leader McCloskey International has welcomed Ethiopian Dealer Ries Engineering S. Co. (RESCO) to its global network of distributors. Wasting no time, the dealer has already finalized deals with customers and. looks forward to increasing the presence of McCloskey across the region. “Having Ries on board will further strengthen our expanding distribution network in Africa. Ethiopia presents some unique and exciting possibilities that we anticipate will contribute to our growth in the marketplace,”saidJohn O’Neill, Vice-President of Marketing & Sales for McCloskey International. “Ries has excellent relationships with customers in the mining, aggregate, construction and infrastructure industries, and working together will benefit not only our companies but – more importantly -their customers. “ Founded as an independent company in 1965, Ries Engineering S. Co. (RESCO) is the Caterpillar dealer representative for Ethiopia. Prior to that, it was operating as an engineering department of Paul Ries & Sons (ETH) Ltd since 1961, when its founders, the Ries family, acquired the Caterpillar dealership for Ethiopia. RESCO has been established with capabilities that enabled it provide full support to its customers.

Ries has already put three units out in the field in their territory, including a J44 jaw crusher, C38 cone crusher and an S130 Triple Deck (pictured here). Orders have been placed to add more to the growing fleet of McCloskey in the region. When asked why they chose to become a McCloskey dealer, Ato Yeheyes Assefa, Assistant Managing Director, Ries Engineering noted that “in the next five years, we anticipate growth in the mining sector, and looked to add crushers and screeners to our equipment line-up. McCloskey International not only fits with our policy of representing quality products, but will also complement our existing earth moving and asphalt plant equipment.” In addition to Caterpillar, RESCO represents other internationally reputed manufacturer including Massey Ferguson, Perkins, Ford, Mairini, and Berthoud. The head office of RESCO, which also includes the main workshop and parts depot, is located in the Southern outskirts of Addis Ababa along Debrezeit Road and is set-up on an area of 28,000m2. In order to facilitate the support it gives to its customers, RESCO has set up four branches in key regional centers (Bahir Dar, Dire Dawa, Hawassa and Mekele). It is also in the process of opening additional branches in other regional towns. Ries Engineering serves a number of private and government customers in the region, across industries including mining, construction, and agriculture.
