McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, has delivered three McNeilus® Metro-Pak® Rear Loader refuse vehicles to the municipality of Valparaiso, Chile. Each vehicle is emblazoned with full-body graphics that display the many works of Valparaiso’s own Lukas, an acclaimed cartoonist whose drawings are said to have captured the soul of the Chilean people. Valparaiso is a new McNeilus customer. Geoprospec, a McNeilus dealer, will provide service to the city under the long-term service contract it has with Valparaiso. Before going on duty, the trucks were displayed in a central downtown square and recognized at a special ceremony attended by Valparaiso’s Mayor, Jorge Castro. “McNeilus is proud to be granted the distinction of providing these three special vehicles with their stunning graphics that reflect the customs and cultural life in Valparaiso,” said Erick Montero, McNeilus director of international sales. “We are thrilled to have these vehicles serve the citizens of Chile’s cultural capital, while honoring one of its most-loved artists.”

Artist Renzo Pecchenino, known by his pen name, Lukas, has special ties to Valparaiso and became renowned as a cartoonist and illustrator whose work has appeared in Chilean newspapers and magazines. The McNeilus Metro-Pak Rear Loader is available in 11-, 13-, 15-, and 19-cubic meter (14-, 17-, 20-, and 25-cubic yard) body configurations and a 2.3-cubic meter (2.5-cubic yard) tailgate capacity. Built with abrasion resistant (AR) steel throughout the body floor, sidewalls, and roof for added strength and durability, the Metro-Pak is easy to maintain, with features like quick-change polyethylene slide shoes.
