BBQs, Parties, and Summer Bashes – Oh my! Summer may be the most relaxing time of the year for (mostly) everyone, but it can also generate a lot of waste (next to the holidays!). While we are enjoying our backyard cookouts and get togethers, take a look around and make sure that your communities are doing the right thing by depositing trash and recycling into the right bins. I know many of you have great educational campaigns and that is the heart of getting people to make changes in how they see waste and recycling. I’d like to hear about some of yours – what makes yours unique? Is it effective? Do your communities give you feedback? Drop us an e-mail or give us a call, we would love to hear about it.

We have a great issue for you this month. “Blueprint for Success: What to Consider When Building a Sorting Facility” talks about the intricate planning and consideration of numerous factors that go into material sorting facilities to ensure their efficiency and success, while “How to Reduce High Turnover for Technicians in the Environmental Services Industry” dives into different ways to invest in your people in order to reduce turnover, and “Complement Corrosion Control and Reduce Building Maintenance with Corrosion Resistant Rubber Doors” discusses what type of doors are most successful on composting and waste management buildings. We also have an update on “Navigating New PFAS Regulations: What Landfill Operators Need to Know”, which highlights some of the EPA requirements coming down the pipeline. And don’t miss “Building Up Longevity” that makes the case for rigid-frame fabric buildings. Other articles to check out include topics on trends in heavy-duty repair, compliance issues, electrochemical oxidation for PFAS, investing in sorting technology, thinking strategically about sustainability, and more!
