The city of North Miami announces the return of the Recyclebank program for its residents. North Miami was the first community in the Southeastern United States to deploy the Recyclebank program back in 2009. Recyclebank is a rewards program that gives residents points for their everyday green actions, like bringing recyclables to the curb for pickup. Residents can redeem those points for deals and discounts from hundreds of local and national businesses. Reward points in North Miami are distributed based on the community’s recycling weight. The program is available to all single-family homes in North Miami that have curbside recycling service.

North Miami households that receive curbside recycling service must activate or re-activate an existing account, either online or by phone, in order to start earning reward points. If a business is interested in being a reward partner to offer great discounts and rewards to local residents who participate in the Recyclebank program, they can contact Venessa Santos-Garza, Senior Account Manager and Community Representative at [email protected].

Schools located in Recyclebank home recycling communities like North Miami are eligible to submit an application that creates, continues or expands sustainable practices. Recyclebank selects the top 50 proposals and give those accepted schools the opportunity to raise up to $2,500 for their projects. Deadline for application submission is December 4, 2015.
