Officials with Santek Waste Services, LLC. announces the company’s acquisition of Waste Transport Service, LLC in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Effective Jan. 1, 2016, the transaction includes all of Waste Transport’s residential, commercial and industrial waste collection customers in Hardin, Meade and LaRue counties. Because Santek is a privately held company, the terms of the acquisition are not being publicly disclosed. Waste Services of Kentucky, LLC, a newly formed, wholly owned subsidiary of Santek, acquired all Waste Transport’s assets.

The purchase includes 14,000 residential customers, 346 commercial and industrial waste customers, and 24 collection vehicles. Santek Chief Business Development Officer Edward Caylor said the purchase of the 17-year-old company complements Santek’s operation of the Pearl Hollow Landfill which is owned by Hardin County, Kentucky. “The addition of Waste Transport is a very strategic acquisition for Santek because it gives us the ability to internalize new waste volumes at the Pearl Hollow Landfill and gives us a solid waste collection presence in the Elizabethtown market,” Caylor said. As part of the transaction, Santek will integrate all existing Waste Transport employees into Santek’s work force. Waste Transport owners Wayne and Barbara Smith opted to retire.
