Lukacs has led many industry causes that support waste minimization and recycling and composting initiatives. She is founder and chair of the Green Initiatives for Venues and Events Council, an organization dedicated to increasing the awareness of implementing green programs at venues and special events. Lukacs currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Resource Recovery Association, California’s largest resource conservation organization, and the Zero Waste International Alliance.
