Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA) is seeking designers and models for its third annual Recycled Fashion Show at The Davenport Hotel in Spokane, WA on May 18, 2015. The show is a part of the annual WSRA Conference being held May 17-20. The goal of this highly anticipated show is to raise awareness about the vast array of materials we accumulate and encourage participants and audience members to think creatively about reuse and recycling. “The Recycled Fashion Show is a wonderful way to bring together creativity and sustainability. Attendees should be prepared to be awed by haute trash couture and inspired to view their waste differently. WSRA invites designers and models with all levels of experience to participate. Outfits need to be created using at least 80% repurposed materials. Repurposed materials are materials with one use value which are transformed into something to serve an alternative use. Applicants have until March 31, 2015 to apply online at www.wsra.net. Applications consist of your intent to design or model as well as information on the materials you will provide or are in need of. If designing, we also require a short description of your concept. Once your application is accepted, you will be paired with an enthusiastic volunteer who will be modeling your final product. The theme of the 2015 show is “Elegance” and an inspiration board has been created on the Washington State Recycling Association’s Pinterest page for designers and volunteers to view.
This fun, family-friendly show will start at 6:00pm on Monday, May 18 and is open to the public for $20. Ticket prices include access to the show, one complimentary beverage and light hors d’oeuvres.
