The Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA), a nonprofit trade association representing the state’s diverse recycling industry, is seeking session proposals for their 36th Annual Conference & Trade Showtaking place at the Wenatchee Convention Center in Wenatchee WA, May 15-18, 2016. This year’s conference theme is “To Recycling and Beyond” which looks to attract over 300 recycling and waste industry professionals throughout the Pacific Northwest.

WSRA’s conference provides stakeholders in Washington’s recycling and waste prevention community with the knowledge and resources to address current challenges in the recycling industry, implement and improve recycling programs, advocate for policies and initiatives that advance recycling and waste prevention, and support the development of a generation of professionals for whom sustainability is a core tenet of their work and life philosophy.

Following this year’s theme, sessions will be broken down into four tracks: Education & Outreach, Markets, Operations & Infrastructure, and Policy. If you can craft an hour-long workshop that will actively engage participants, deliver a solid message about a key issue facing the industry, and send attendees away with several identifiable lessons learned, then we invite you to submit your proposal!

The 2016 Request for Proposals Packet summarizes each of the four tracks, outlines session guidelines and criteria, defines the audience, and identifies key objectives. Proposals will be evaluated based on their overall alignment with this year’s conference theme and vision. Please submit your Session Proposal Form by Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 5:00 PM PST to be considered. All submissions will receive an email confirming receipt of the proposal.
