The American Chemistry Council (ACC)’s Plastics Division announced its newest member, W. R. Grace & Co. (Grace). Grace is a leading, high-performance specialty chemicals and materials supplier whose products provide solutions for their customers around the world.  Grace’s Specialty Catalysts division provides process technology for polypropylene and a broad range of catalyst solutions for polyolefins and chemicals.  Grace’s polyolefin catalysts and their UNIPOL® PP Process Technology are used in a wide variety of end-use applications, including high-pressure pipe, food packaging, automotive parts, medical devices, and textiles. Grace joins ACC’s Plastic Division as its first “value chain” member — a membership tier added earlier this year.

“The Plastics Division is pleased to welcome Grace to our new membership tier. Our growing and increasingly diversified membership demonstrates our industry’s commitment to developing innovative solutions to some of nation’s greatest challenges — such as recovering more plastic, reducing our carbon footprint, and making America more sustainable.” said Joshua Baca, vice president of ACC’s Plastics Division.

“We are honored to be the first value chain member welcomed into ACC’s Plastics Division. Tougher environmental standards and higher expectations for health and wellness are among the powerful global trends influencing our customers’ growth and their focus on the sustainability of their products and operations,” Laura Schwinn, President, Specialty Catalysts said. “At Grace, we share this focus. Joining ACC’s Plastics Division supports our commitment to helping our customers meet these demands, and to meet them ourselves, and to push for increased innovation for a more sustainable and circular plastics industry.” Grace joined ACC’s Plastics Division effective April 7, 2021.
