AMERIPEN, the American Institute for Packaging and the Environment, will participate in PACK EXPO this fall, September 11–13, in Las Vegas. Presenting in various locations across the convention, AMERIPEN representatives will focus on the intersections between packaging, policy, and sustainability.

On Monday, September 11, AMERIPEN’s Executive Director, Dan Felton, will moderate an interactive panel discussion on the Sustainability Central stage on packaging labeling. There, panelists will explore state and federal legislation and regulation addressing claims made on packaging.

The second day of the show will see AMERIPEN’s Membership & Policy Director, Rob Keith, give an overview of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), including the current state of EPR laws and legislation in the U.S. Later, Keith will lead a discussion and demonstration of the tools that AMERIPEN uses to effectively track packaging policy such as EPR, recycled content mandates, labeling issues, toxics in packaging and other key industry issues.

On Wednesday, September 13, Felton will return to the stage to summarize what’s happening in state and federal packaging policy and how attendees can get involved.

Throughout the three days, AMERIPEN will be exhibiting in the Partner Pavilion (booth C-1151) and will also have activities and information at the event’s Sustainability Central exhibit, enabling attendees to learn more about the intersection of packaging policy and sustainability.

“We’re looking forward to participating in PACK EXPO and helping attendees from across the packaging supply chain to understand the importance of packaging advocacy and policy and how they can get engaged for the greater good,” said Felton.
