Athens Services has welcomed Avygail Sanchez as Vice President of Government Affairs. She will manage government relations and community efforts in cities throughout Los Angeles County. These include Avocado Heights, Bell Gardens, Downey, Lomita, Montebello, Monterey Park, Norwalk, Paramount, Pomona, Rowland Heights, South El Monte, and Whittier.

Avygail has over 20 years of experience in implementing leadership development programs, project coordination, and client relations management at the community and governmental level. Coming from a background of architecture and engineering, she has worked with cities behind the scenes in transportation infrastructure and is looking forward to building relations on a personal level. “The goal is to make cities in our region a better place to live,” said Avygail. “Cities are defined by boundaries on a map and in reality those boundaries are not where communities end. It’s essential to understand each city’s priorities to be a good partner and help achieve that.”

Her plan is to work alongside elected officials to help meet the needs of Athens customers while also putting forth a commitment to serve “Avygail has an extensive background in government affairs, project management, and programming. I’m confident her work with the cities we serve will help meet and exceed community needs and she will be a great asset to the Athens Team,” said Executive Vice President Gary Clifford.
