Atlas Organics, a leading composting company based in Spartanburg SC, has been awarded a contract with the County of Lexington in South Carolina for the purpose of managing the daily operations of the County’s wood grinding and compost facility. This relationship will grow the presence of Atlas Organics in the state of South Carolina and the greater Southeast.

Atlas brings a high level of service and compost products to all of its facilities, and will add a new level of science, technology, and data collection to the existing operation to serve customers better. “Starting operations in Lexington County only makes sense given our large presence in the Carolinas. Now we are able to service most of the midlands and neighboring counties with quality compost at an affordable price,” says Leslie Rodgers, Director of Sales and Marketing for Atlas Organics.

Atlas’ initial operations in Lexington County will focus on improving the quality of current yard waste compost to a more refined material. Atlas Organics officially started operations on May 2, 2022. By early Fall, Atlas expects to implement its Aerated Static Pile (ASP) method of composting, which it is known for throughout its network of 8 facilities across the U.S., to create a higher quality product. The Lexington County Compost facility will continue to accept clean yard and wood waste at the Edmund Landfill and sell compost in bulk until Atlas’ product is ready!
