A kind gesture from a group of waste management workers made a toddler’s day when they brought him Christmas gifts and spent time with him Tuesday.
Kelli Williams’ 2-year-old son Isaac has been battling stage IV Neuroblastoma, which is a cancer of the nerve tissues.
He was diagnosed in April and had a tumor the size of a football growing in his adrenal gland. Isaac has had a stem cell transplant, five rounds of chemotherapy, and will be starting radiation in a few weeks.
However, Tuesday garbage days at his grandmother’s home in Sammamish are always a bright spot for Isaac. He loves to watch the workers as they complete their routes, Williams said.
A neighbor told the workers how much Isaac loves the garbage trucks, and the workers knew they had to do something for him.
Three garbage trucks and their crews came to Isaac’s house on Tuesday to pay him a visit and give him gifts – including his own garbage and recycling trucks.
