Jim Martin, founder of Martin Environmental Services, Inc., announces the promotion of Brandon Hurst. Brandon has been promoted to President and CEO of Martin Environmental Services, Inc. Martin Environmental is celebrating its 20th year in business as a waste & recycling services company that currently provides, solid waste, fiber recycling, and portable toilet solutions to thousands of customers throughout Alabama, Northwest Florida, and Southwest Georgia.

A second-generation garbage man, Brandon Hurst is the stepson of Founder Jim Martin. Growing up Brandon spent many summers and school breaks with Jim, loading carboard onto a pickup truck, which is how Jim started his business in 1999. Brandon officially joined the company in early 2009 after serving in the United States Army with the 101stAirborne Division. Since that time Brandon has held many roles within the organization.

In 2018 Brandon purchased controlling interest of the company as part of the organization’s succession plan. Founder, Jim Martin said that “this has been the plan all along. Brandon has been running the business with me for a long time, and over the last few years has taken over most responsibilities. The way he treats our employees and customers is beyond anything I could have hoped for. I am excited about our future under his leadership”.

Brandon is a member of the Dothan Rotary Club and serves on the board of directors for the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity. He and his family are members of Covenant United Methodist Church in Dothan. Brandon is married to Brooke Hurst and they have three children, Sophie, John Rhett, and Millie.
