Bristol Township has signed a new deal with Waste Management. Bristol Township Council approved the new $34,581,044.42 five-year deal last week. The contract kicks off in January.

The deal is more than 40 percent higher than the $24 million paid by the township under the last deal approved five years ago. The new deal will keep once-per-week trash and recycling pick up, reduce bulk pickup to once per month, keep yard waste pickup during the same periods, and move to having township crews collects the trash from parks.

Township Manager Randee Elton said the contract is not as high as she feared and had previously warned. The township usually announces new trash rates at budget time at the end of the year. In 2022, Bristol Township households paid $340 per year for the waste hauling.
