California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) announced that it has received the 2019 Outstanding Recycling Organization award by the National Recycling Coalition (NRC) during the Resource Recycling conference in New Orleans. Hailed as the highest national recognition for state recycling associations, this award recognizes CRRA for its successful programs (including an annual educational conference and nationally recognized certification program), partnerships and collaborations, and commitment to Zero Waste in California and beyond.

For over 45 years CRRA has been a leader in the Zero Waste movement and environmental education in California.  It is the oldest and one of the largest non-profit recycling organizations in the United States.

“CRRA has become a reliable source for education, networking and support to our members. The Board of Directors, its advisors and staff have worked hard to establish an organization that is financially sustainable, looked upon by other state associations as the leaders in our field, and provides valuable benefits to its members. We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award and look forward to the continued partnership with NRC,” Tracie Onstad Bills, CRRA Executive Director.
