Charissa McAfee has been promoted to the position of partner at the municipal solid waste consulting firm of Sloan Vazquez, Inc., which will now do business as Sloan Vazquez McAfee. Since joining the firm as a senior associate in 2013, Ms. McAfee has managed operational and contract reviews, feasibility studies, competitive proposal writing, and marketing strategy and material development. She has also participated in municipal procurements, operational and contract audits, waste and recycling material composition and characterization study reports and MRF operational review reports.

Prior to joining Sloan Vazquez, Inc. as a senior associate in 2013, Ms. McAfee worked as the director of community relations and public affairs for Waste Management in Southern California, where she was responsible for the growth and management of municipal contracts throughout San Diego, Orange and Riverside Counties. Before entering the solid waste and recycling field, Ms. McAfee served in non-profit leadership roles, including executive director of MADD San Diego County, and assistant director of Vista Community Clinic’s Health Promotion Center. Ms. McAfee earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Covenant College at Lookout Mountain, Georgia, and a Master’s in Business Administration from California State University San Marcos.
