85 waste industry movers and shakers gathered recently for the first annual Waste Industry Charity Golf Classicat the beautiful Tournament Players Club of Tampa Bay in Tampa, FL. Big Truck Rental and Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) partnered togetheron the eventand raised a total of $39,000, of which $13,000 each went to benefit the United Way of Chattanooga (where ESG is based), the Metropolitan Ministries of Tampa (home to Big Truck Rental) and the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF). EREF’s mission is to fund and direct scientific research and educational initiatives for waste management practices to benefit industry participants and the communities they serve. “EREF is honored to accept this generous donation,” said Bryan Staley, EREF President & CEO. “The funds will allow EREF to continue to awards grants and scholarships for solid waste research, as well as provide educational opportunities.”

Scott Dols, CEO of Big Truck Rental and Pat Carroll, President of Environmental Solutions Group, were the driving force behind the creation of the Waste Industry Charity Golf Classic and the event was met with great enthusiasm. “I am very proud that Big Truck Rental and Environment Solutions Group were able to combine efforts and create a successful charity event.  We clearly demonstrated that together, we can achieve extraordinary results,” said Dols. “It has been a very rewarding activity for all of us.”
