The Environmental Research & Education Foundation, in collaboration with the California Refuse Recycling Council, will host the EREF Summit on Organics in Ontario, California on July 25 & 26. This educational event will feature a full day of presentations and discussions from organics management experts followed by a half-day tour of two composting facilities. Attendees can expect presentations on the latest research in organics management and collection and updates on policy and sustainability, as well as networking opportunities with the industry’s technical experts.

Tuesday, July 25, will feature presentations pertaining to organics management topics including:

  • Organics Management: State of Practice
  • Policy/Legislative Activity Impacting Organics
  • Collection and Processing of Organics
  • Scientific Advancements in Anaerobic Digestion of MSW
  • Operational Successes and Challenges in Managing Organics

Wednesday, July 26, participants will tour the following composting facilities:

  • Burrtec Waste Industries
  • Inland Empire Regional Composting Authority (IERCA)
