Meridian Waste announces the promotion of JD Morgan to Safety Manager in North Carolina and Virginia.  Morgan was introduced to Meridian Waste and the solid waste industry through the company’s Manager Trainee program. Previously, Morgan was managing the company’s North Carolina safety program including three hauling operations, one construction and demolition (C&D) landfill, and two transfer stations.  The addition of the Virginia operations will expand his geographic responsibilities with a municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill, three additional hauling locations, and two material recovery facilities (MRF)s.  Morgan will work closely with local North Carolina and Virginia management and the Director of Safety and Risk, who is based at the Charlotte, NC headquarters. Morgan will ensure that team members receive and incorporate safety training, policies, and field compliance with

U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. “JD brings a new energy and increased awareness to our safety program in the two states. This is vital to developing and maintaining our core culture while ensuring that our workforce and equipment is ready for the tasks at hand,” said Walter “Wally” Hall, Meridian Waste’s CEO. “We place great importance on our teams and their safe return to Meridian Waste facilities and their families,” he said.   “Safety is everyone’s job, and with JD’s leadership and enthusiasm, I am confident this will be top of mind for all.”
