The Women’s Council of the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) announced today that it has expanded its scholarship program and will award four individuals in 2018 with $7,500 toward the higher education tuition.
“Thanks to generosity of donors, the NWRA Women’s Council will be offering four, $7500 scholarships for 2018-2019. This is an increase in the number from 3 last year and an increase in the amount from last year’s award of $5000,” said Tammy Holtzman, Chair of the Women’s Council.
Since 2007, the NWRA Women’s Council has awarded $142,500 to 36 scholars. Women’s Council scholarships are offered to NWRA member company employees and their dependents who wish to pursue a career in the solid waste and recycling industry.
