The New York City Chapter of NWRA requested a 30-day extension to the Part II of the RFP for Commercial Waste Zones (CWZ) from the Department of Sanitation for New York City (DSNY). The chapter urged more time for the Department of Sanitation of New York to work with its haulers on the implementation of the program.

“The process has lost the collaboration that existed more during the conceptual stage of the CWZ program,” said Lew Dubuque, Northeast Region Vice President for NWRA. “We propose a 30-day delay and the creation of a working group of all stakeholders to address the remaining issues.” The DSNY has released several addendums to the RFP, which often require additional information for the RFP. Haulers need more time to collect the requested information and properly respond to the addendums.
