Pope County facilities will now feature more options for on-site recycling and waste diversion, thanks to a grant partnership with Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management that is also open to other area businesses, non-profits and community institutions.

On February 4, Nathan Reinbold from Pope/Douglas Solid Waste Management (PDSWM) visited the Pope County Courthouse and delivered bins and signage in support of the county’s effort to increase recycling and reduce trash volume at its facilities. The Pope County Facilities Department and Land and Resource Management Department played key roles in also making this program and effort possible.

The material and program support from PDSWM is offered under a grant program intended to encourage community businesses and non-profits to recycle, collect organic waste and otherwise reduce the volume of non-recoverable trash waste in the community.
