Recycle Track Systems, Inc. (RTS), a leader in cutting edge traceability and sustainability solutions utilized in the materials, waste, and recycling industry, has announced a partnership with Anheuser-Busch to increase fan engagement in recycling at stadiums. Under the partnership, RTS will install two of their Cycle Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs), specifically intended for collecting empty single-use containers, at the 2023 Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.

RTS’ Cycle technology gamifies in-stadium recycling and gives fans the chance to win rewards in exchange for recycling their empty beverage containers by scanning the QR code on cans, plastic bottles and cups before dropping into the machine. The Cycle machine then compresses the container and the touchscreen display prompts fans to complete a questionnaire with a unique transaction ID. Those who use one of the machines will find out instantly whether they won and will be given instructions explaining how to pick up prizes.

Cycle is now available in select stadiums across the NFL, MLB and MLS. As part of A-B’s National Recycling League, a multi-sports league coalition aiming to reduce waste on game day, Anheuser-Busch first launched Cycle atWashington Nationals’ Nationals Park, and then with the Super Bowl bound Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles were the first team in the NFL to debut the emerging technology, offering prizes from autographed items to even tickets to next year’s season opener, for fans who make use of them at their home games at Lincoln Financial Field.

Today, RTS is also the proud sustainable materials management provider for professional teams, including the New York Mets’ Citi Field and Brooklyn Nets’ Barclays Center, assisting in reduced emissions through increasing diversion from landfill and providing sustainable material management services powered by real-time metrics and feedback regarding the team’s waste management practices. With the help of RTS Philadelphia Union’s Subaru Park was able to achieve zero landfill status, meaning that all of the waste generated at games was reduced, reused or recycled. Together with Anheuser-Busch, RTS looks forward to continuing to highlight the importance of their collective sustainability efforts on and off the field, with fans.

Greg Lettieri, Chief Executive Officer of Recycle Track Systems (RTS) and Cycle powered by RTS, commented: Rewarding fans for recycling has changed the game for sustainability and the path to net-zero. At RTS, we celebrate our partnership with Anheuser Busch and the NFL to bring our Cycle reverse vending machine to the Super Bowl and provide real-time fan engagement and recycling data for the biggest game in sports. We’re energized to see Cycle kick-off our collective efforts to build a future without waste.
