Residents looking to recycle in Millburn Township will find a new set of additional guidelines in place starting this week. Millburn’s recycling hauler is beginning a crackdown on contamination in the curbside recycling stream according to the township. Recycling bins will be left at the curb un-collected for homes that are found to be bagging recyclables or attempting to recycle items that cannot be processed in single-stream collections.

For residents who find that their recycling was not picked up, they will receive a sticker outlining the issue to be corrected before their next scheduled pickup. Additionally, the township has asked residents not to bag their recyclables. Any items left out for recycling should be clean and dry – no food residue or remaining liquid. Polystyrene and e-waste can be recycled at the Public Works Yard.
