Texas Disposal Systems (TDS), the official waste and recycling partner of Austin FC, announces they have been honored with a Telly Award in the General-Public Service/PSA Category for their promotional video titled, “Texas Disposal Systems Pre-Match Video for Austin FC.” The Telly Awards recognize excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials, along with non-broadcast video and television programming.

TDS created the winning video to educate fans at Q2 Stadium, home to Austin FC, about proper waste disposal. The video explains how to properly dispose of waste, recycling and composting all while capturing the intensity and excitement that fans feel at the game. By partnering with Austin FC, TDS demonstrates its commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable resource management practices.

“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious recognition from the Telly Awards,” said Leticia Mendoza, Director of Marketing and Communications at Texas Disposal Systems. “Through initiatives like our pre-match video and having 70 strategically placed Eco Stations throughout Q2 Stadium, we educate the public about the significance of responsible waste disposal. Together with Austin FC, we are making a positive impact on our community and the environment.”

This year’s competition received over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents, showcasing outstanding creativity and innovation in the video industry. The Telly Awards judging process involves a panel of industry experts who have previously won the highest accolades, ensuring that winning entries are reviewed by professionals with extensive experience and expertise in their respective categories.

“This Telly Awards win is well-deserved,” said Jordan Enke, Senior Vice President of Stadium Operations at Austin FC. “Texas Disposal Systems’ commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our values, and the pre-match video has played an instrumental role in our mission to continue to divert waste at every Austin FC match. With the help of TDS, in our 2022 season we diverted 75% of all waste by weight. Together, we are fostering a culture of kindness, sustainability and shared responsibility towards our city.
