Over the last several years, he has been a distinguished speaker and presenter at SWANA SOAR, WASTECON, and the National Association of Waste to Energy Conference.

Mike joined Waste Pro after leading the Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management for 15 years. Miami-Dade County is the largest government-owned and operated collection, recycling, transfer, and post-collection operations in the Southeastern United States. Mike led the operations, budget, and oversight for this large government-owned, vertically integrated solid waste system, managing over 1,100 employees, facility management, and equipment maintenance. “I look forward to bringing my combined public and private sector experience and knowledge. I am excited to share this with other SWANA members and emerging leaders, as well as my skills, passion, and understanding of the industry I have gained over my 30 years in solid waste and recycling.” Mike shared.
