In 2020 Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling (ISWR) partnered with local artist, Susan Morlock, to challenge the perception of waste culture by providing a unique platform for community members and visitors to become motivated and engaged with refusing, reducing, reusing, and recycling opportunities.   The result were two unique art installations entitled flores pulchros and ‘round again. Consequently, Teton County ISWR has become encouraged to continue Road to Zero Waste education and outreach through the visual arts.

Teton County ISWR is seeking an artist to create a public facing art installation that aligns with Road to Zero waste programming and education, inspires residents and visitors, promotes Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and creates a sense of community connectedness.  The Road to Zero Waste Public Art Program will begin February 2023 and anticipates completed artwork by June with education and outreach programming and an educational event scheduled prior to December 2023.

If you are a local or regional artist interested in submitting a proposal for the Road to Zero Waste Public Art Program, program information may be obtained online.  Proposals are to be submitted to [email protected] on Friday, February 3 before 5:00pm MST.
