As California develops rules to ensure the state recycles most packaging and plastic food service waste, and decreases the amount produced, interested parties can give input on regulations for Senate Bill 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022). “We need our industry partners to come forward to help make our system fully circular,” CalRecycle Director Rachel Machi Wagoner said. “A circular economy will make better use of finite resources, reduce climate-heating pollution and protect human health.”

- Local governments, recyclers, composters and haulers
- Nonprofits, environmental justice organizations and community groups
