New City of Midland recycling locations will be located in north and west Midland and could cost as much as $6.6 million to come to fruition. The Midland City Council will vote to go out for bids for the construction of the Citizen Collection Station North and Citizen Collection Station West projects. “Due to the continued growth throughout the City of Midland, Solid Waste believes it is necessary to construct two Citizen Collection Stations to better serve our residents,” the city reported in its agenda packet. “The North Citizen Collection Station will be located on North (State Highway) 349 near the new water tower. The West Citizen Collection Station will be located on Business 20 near Big Sky Drive-in.”

The council will have the opportunity to approve plans and specifications for the North Citizen Collection Station Project and the West Citizen Collection Station Project and authorize city staff to advertise a request for competitive sealed proposals.

“Plans and specifications are provided from the professional services agreement with Parkhill for the design and construction documents for the Citizen Collection Stations construction,” the city reported.
