The Northeast Recycling Council’s Spring 2018 Workshop <https://nerc.org/conferences-and-workshops/event-agenda>  is just around the corner and will focus on the key market issues for paper, plastics, glass, and compost. Attendees and exhibitors from the US and Canada will gather at the Sheraton Baltimore Washington Airport Hotel on April 3rd, to participate in presentations and discussions that look at current issues affecting recycling markets.
 
The Workshop will open with introductory remarks from Secretary Ben Grumbles, Maryland Department of the Environment <http://mde.maryland.gov/Pages/index.aspx> .  Following Mr. Grumbles will be Keynote Speaker, Myles Cohen, President, Pratt Recycling <http://recycle.prattindustries.com/> & President, Paper Stock Industries <http://paperstockindustries.org/> .  Pratt is America’s 5th largest corrugated cardboard packaging company and the largest privately-held 100% recycled paper and packaging company.  
 
The Workshop will continue with Angus Crane of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association <https://insulationinstitute.org/> , Ed Purtill of Ardagh Group <https://www.ardaghgroup.com/> , Curt Bucey of Strategic Materials <http://www.strategicmaterials.com/> , Jonathan Sloan of Canusa Hershman Recycling <http://www.canusacorp.com/canusa-hershman/> , Charles Duprey of Naturcycle <https://naturcycle.com/> , and Jerry Powell of Plastics Recycling Update <https://resource-recycling.com/plastics/magazine/>  presenting their perspective on the primary market issues affecting the four industry sectors.  Another noteworthy session will feature Betsy Dorn of RSE USA <http://rse-usa.com/> discussing the history of recycling market development efforts in the US.  And breakout sessions that will encourage attendees to actively participate in defining and illustrating market issues and recycling market development strategies.
