This week’s Safety Monday, presented by Waste Management, is a reminder that February is Heart Health Month and includes warning signs of a heart attack. It is important to note that men and women are likely to experience different warning signs. “During Heart Heath Month, we want waste collection workers to be mindful of the warning signs of a heart attack and call 911 if they or a colleague experience any of these symptoms,” said Kirk Sander, chief of staff and vice president of safety for the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA).

“We are pleased to provide this industry-renowned safety resource to anyone who requests it,” said NWRA President and CEO Darrell Smith. “You do not need to be a member of NWRA to receive it.”
